2 months agoHad a 2 course. Taboula was as expected, lamb tajina was tasty, but would of been better if they put some carrots and potatoes in extra to fill me up.

3 months agoThe service was great and the food was delicious. This was my first visit and I will certainly be heading back there soon. Very authentic & I liked how the owner came over to see how we were getting on.

3 months agoAs a Moroccan 🇲🇦, the food at this restaurant does not represent authentic Moroccan cuisine in any way. This was the 2nd chance i give to this restaurant as the first time i went for pastilla and its very common that restaurants don’t really make good pastilla, so i didn’t want to judge. This time we got chicken tajine, We literally got offered left overs food The chicken was old, didn’t taste fresh at all surrounded by water instead of Daghmira (the name of the sauce), very cheap quality of olives and horrible frozen fries Using normal lemen instead of Hamed mseyer (type of lemen we use in this meal) That gives us a plain and old food taste instead of the taste of chicken tajine. Lamb tajine: A similar problem: the lamb was bland due to insufficient seasoning. The sauce was watery and overly sweet, lacking the flavors of the lamb tagine, cheap quality of plums that are not even visible of the tajine. The only good fresh tasty thing was the bread, The prices are too expensive for what we got offered and for the quality. This explains why the restaurant was empty both times I visited, and why the food tasted like leftovers, probably cooked days before and then reheated. Also, it caught my attention that the restaurant serves Halal food, yet serves alcohol, which is completely contradictory. If you serve Halal food, which is what Muslims generally prefer to consume and then add alcoholic drinks to the menu, you're already excluding this community from visiting the restaurant, as the majority of Muslims don't drink alcohol and don't like to go to restaurants that serve it. A successful Moroccan 🇲🇦 restaurant = affordable prices + good quality of food (home made and made by experienced locals) + including all communities + authentic Moroccan traditional music.

3 months agoRegular friends' dining. This is a blind choice because we have not tried Moroccan food before. We were welcomed warmly. The menu is not big, and I hoped the food is cooked well. There were not many tables occupied, but I saw a large group of Hongkongers speaking in Cantonese. This helped my confidence. The music was a bit noisy but it drowned the noise of the railway above us. We had meatball, tabulah, and lamb chops and all were very tasty and fragrant, especially the meatball. One of us had a medium T-bone steak which was cooked to the point. But a spicy beef tajine and a traditional lamb tanjia looked and tasted so much distinct and most pleasant. The taste is very different for us, so it must be very Moroccan rather than just "Middle East" or other nationalities. We also tried the jawhara and basbousa which were different from other desserts we have tried. And I had a very fragrant mint tea which is not too overpowering, and my friend said his latte coffee was superb. My friends praised the Moroccan lager, and I enjoyed by pineapple juice as well. Definite another return soon.
